So every band I'd want to see at Coachella this year, I've already seen live. But it's still a pretty good lineup.
From seeing The Black Keys more times in the last 2 years than I can remember to leaning on the stage for Arcade Fire at The Shrine, it's going to take a lot for me to head to the desert. And then after the initial excitement of seeing the headliners to this, "Death From Above 1979" on Sunday. I actually did a double take. "No this has to be a fake one". No, they are playing. I'm just praying they play a warm-up show in LA/OC before their Coachella appearance.

Don't You Wanna Touch It Anyway?
In honor of Soundgarden being back. A giant fuck you to all the bad 80's bands like Warrant and Poison making bad music.
Cornell's voice was untouchable in the early 90's.
"Hiro, our bass player at the time, hated that song. He thought it was obnoxious butt rock, a total rock'n'roll cliche. We tried to explain to him that the song was making fun of butt rock. We were fed up with bands beating about the bush, just using euphemisms and metaphors for the sex act. We thought we'll ditch all the euphemisms and say what all the disco dance bands had been trying to say for a decade. We were simply trying to kick all the lame-ass rock'n'roll and dance music of the '80s and late '70s in the butt. It's a parody of the whole genre of stupid rock." --Kim Thayil

My plan? Buy night 1 tickets, resell them, and use it to finance my trip to night 2. A half hour set by The Black Keys is still a half hour set by The Black Keys.
